Arbos recycled paper notebooks presented at PalaComieco

palacomieco_roma_11_ 2014The first stop of PalaComieco, the itinerant show that has been touring the Italian peninsula for the past 10 years on behalf of Comieco, the National Consortium for the Recovery and Recycling of Cellulose-based Packaging, was recently staged in Piazza XX Settembre, Pordenone.

Palacomieco is an ambitious communication event organized to raise public awareness of the importance of recycling paper and cardboard that has made stops in over 100 cities and involved over 170,000 people since 2005.

This year, the structure has been completely renovated and made cardboard the real star of the show: most of the 400 square meter interactive area has been entirely made with this material, and even the outer walls of the halls and the indoor installations are all made of cardboard.

The display areas are interactive and conceived to make school children and their families more interested in recycling and sorted waste collection, to help them understand just what is inside a packaging and just what the recycling process involves, and to illustrate the multiple opportunities for the re-use of these materials, not only in articles of everyday use but also for purposes of art and design.

Visitors are accompanied by four experts who guide users through the discovery of this fascinating world by means of a series of films, greater detail, and interactive games.
Arbos provided some of its notebooks made from recycled paper for the interactive games and especially to show children just what that notebook was before and what it is capable of becoming: any old newspaper or cardboard box can be turned into a new notebook or a page in a book through recycling – even if we think that a handsome notebook that holds our thoughts should never be thrown away but cherished for the future instead!!

The PalaComieco show will not be stopping here, however: the next appointments will be in Messina from May 7-10 and then Ragusa from May 14-17 before the summer vacation pause and the resumption of activity in the autumn.

Keep up to date with all the latest news from Comieco at its website.
