For us at Arbos, sustainability<\/a> isn\u2019t just a slogan \u2014 it\u2019s a daily commitment. We believe beauty, functionality, and respect for the environment should always go hand in hand. <\/p>\n

What is a carbon footprint?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The carbon footprint is an indicator that measures the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere by a product, a company, or a lifestyle. These gases include CO\u2082, methane, and nitrous oxide \u2014 all contributing to the greenhouse effect and climate change. <\/p>\n

Everything has a footprint: from the production of a notebook to its shipping and eventual disposal. Measuring the carbon footprint means understanding how much we impact the environment \u2014 and from there, starting to make it better. <\/p>\n

1. Measure<\/b><\/h4>\n

Only what is measured can be improved. Arbos <\/span>is starting.<\/span> <\/span>a process to analyze the environmental impact of every stage of production <\/span>of one’s business activities<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a long process because it means<\/span> <\/span>gathering data on the entire life cycle of our products: materials, energy consumption, transportation, packaging, and much more.<\/p>\n

2. Reduce<\/b><\/h4>\n

Once the impact is known, the next step is to reduce it.<\/p>\n

How? For example, by optimizing production processes and shipping, and eliminating plastic and unnecessary packaging. <\/span>Arbos has already taken steps to reduce its impact: the energy we use comes exclusively from renewable sources. Our decision to produce entirely in Italy also affects our carbon footprint; working with local suppliers shortens the supply chain and creates value within our region. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. Offset<\/strong><\/h4>\n

There are emissions that, unfortunately, cannot be completely eliminated. That\u2019s where offsetting comes into play. <\/span>offset:<\/b> investing in projects that absorb CO\u2082 (such as planting trees) or prevent new emissions (like renewable energy initiatives).<\/p>\n

CAMBIAMENTI:<\/i> a project to offset the carbon footprint in the Vicenza area<\/b><\/h2>\n

Until now, most offset projects have focused on distant countries, often in developing regions.<\/span><\/p>\n

But with the CAMBIAMENTI<\/i><\/strong> project, supported by Aequilibria<\/strong> Srl SB and under the patronage of the Accademia Olimpica di Vicenza<\/strong><\/a>, <\/span>six Vicenza-based B Corp<\/a> certified companies \u2014 Alisea, Arbos, Cielo e Terra, D’Orica, Ecozema, and Zordan<\/strong> \u2014 have taken on a new challenge.
The challenge is to create local value<\/b> by activating offset mechanisms that can generate environmental, <\/span>economic, and social benefits close to home: in our forests, our energy systems, and our<\/span> <\/span>farming communities.<\/span><\/p>\n
