The modernity of Dante

Ecological notebooks to celebrate Dante’s modernity.

For Italian literature, 2021 is a special year: the 700th anniversary of the death of the Supreme Poet.

Hundreds of initiatives were organised to celebrate Dante Alighieri by organisations, institutions, artists and cultural associations in the most important cities but also in smaller towns.
In fact, during his life (1265 -1321) Dante travelled and lived in different places.
Among many, Firenze www.700dantefirenze.it, where he was born and from where he was later exiled;Verona www.danteaverona.it which hosted him;Ravenna www.vivadante.it, which welcomed him until the end of his days.

With a selection of the most deserving initiatives made by the Ministero della Cultura, a rich programme was published, with events in every field of the arts: literature, poetry, theatre, music, dance, plastic arts.

Digital exhibitions, videos, webinars, live streaming, seminars, performances, exhibitions of archival documents, digitised Dante’s codices and manuscripts, and virtual tours provide the opportunity to create a personal journey of rediscovery of Dante’s genius.

Also not to be missed is theAccademia della Crusca’sinitiative ‘Dante’s Word Fresh’, which proposes a word a day for the whole of 2021, celebrating the linguistic legacy left by Dante.

Arbos wanted to celebrate the modernity of the Supreme Poet with a special edition of ecological notebooks with a minimalist and contemporary look.
The refined essentiality of the visible coloured binding and the reflections of the metallic print frame the famous triplets.
Morality, religion, politics, love and hate, passions, vices and virtues. Dreams and aspirations. Pursuit of happiness and improvement.
Dante narrates states of mind that are valid in all times, and therein lies his extraordinary modernity.
Dante also speaks to us, and about us.
